The Depot is open on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month during work days except when it falls on a major holiday. We are also open on some of Paxton’s special event days.
Most of these dates will appear on the ICHS calendars each year.
We are open by appointment at any other time. My home phone is 217-379-2261 and if I’m not home, you can leave a message. If you are just passing through and cannot leave a message, call 217-249-4081 (cell phone) and you might reach me. With few exceptions, I can meet members and potential customers at most any time in Paxton. I'm at the depot almost every day after work (4:30) to pack and mail Company Store orders.
If you are planning to come to Paxton or are just passing through, feel free to call and see if I can meet you at the depot when you arrive. If you are planning to come from a distance to a scheduled work day, please call ahead to make sure we will be open that day. There are several work days I won’t be able to attend and may not be able to have someone else at the depot.
The Depot is located at 250 North Market St. This is at the North end of the main business district in Paxton. This runs on the West side of the ICRR. From I-57, exit at Paxton (261) and go east on St. Rte. 9. At Casey's General Store the road turns North on Market St. Just keep going North past four stop signs. The depot is on the West side of the road just South of the Fire Station.
